Endovascular neurosurgery is also called as interventional neuroradiology. It is a medical specialty, which is conducted minimally invasive technique for diagnostic procedures and therapeutic procedures conducted for the disorders related to the cerebrovascular. These procedures are performed under the guidance of radiology. It is somehow similar to the cardiology treatments, like stent placement or angioplasty.

This administration can dissolve the material that causes the block. When the patients come after the stroke, mechanical clots can be removed.

  • Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty

    • Bones becoming weak and further collapse with the growing age is called vertebrae in the spine. The condition results in severe back pain in the patient. Such conditions can be treated through vertebroplasty, which is performed by injecting the bone cement.

  • Tumor Embolisation

    • While intracranial tumour is being removed, the major problem is bleeding, while the surgery is performed. In such conditions, interventional neuroradiologist helps through preoperative blood vessels endovascular occlusion that supplies the tumour. Such processes can reduce the bleeding while the surgery is being peformed.

  • Percutaneous Sclerotherapy

    • Haemangioma, lymphangiomas and many other vascular malformations can be well treated with needle puncture and then sclerosant material injection followed.
